bienvenidos

Four smiling new friends greeted me at Stella's Bakery and led me to my cabina as they helped to carry my luggage. H. & J. invited us to their home for a scrumptuous supper. (They are my padrinos and they left delicious food at my cabina that has sustained me these first couple of days.)
On Saturday I had breakfast with M., a psychiatric pediatric socialworker who retired here more than 30 years ago. I walked to R.'s house for lunch. At the meetinghouse on Saturday night was a high-spirited bunch of English country dancers. My padrinos were the callers and I had a wonderful time.
Today, after meeting I borrowed a Friend's tools to install my retractable clothesline (inside) and hooks for a hammock on my porch.
It is beautiful in Monteverde. The sunsets illuminate the distant bay, far to the west. So far the rain showers are only in the afternoon and evening. I climbed up onto my roof the first morning to clean the leaves off of the roof because during the night I had noticed the moonlight shining through the small area of plastic corregated roof. (somewhat as in a greenhouse)
Now I am unpacked and getting ready for a week of Spanish language study.
It has been wonderful to meet people at the dance last night and at Quaker meeting this morning. We even sing from Songs of the Spirit and Worship in Song before meeting.

Hi Betts:

Tonight is Open Circle. I'll share your blog thoughts with them as well as your blog site. It's rained here again and durn it, I still haven't found that leak in my roof. I'll be heading to Peru in a week, la silva con monos y lorres. Entonces, los altiplanos de Cuzco, Valle Sagrada, Machu Picu & Lago Titicaca.

Bien Viaje!
