Friday evening I made a garlicy cheese sause and then transformed it into wheat rolls. The baking bread overpowered the smell of mildew in my cabina. And the nutritious rolls powered my landscaping project this weekend.
Saturday began with a parade for Independence Day. I continued past the highschool in Santa Elena to Phoebe´s to buy plants. I carried them home in my backpack and worked all afternoon on my little triangular garden between the porch and the drainage ditch. I enjoyed the colors of the plants on Sunday, while reading and laughing in my hammock. (some Gerard Durrell tales of animals that I will read aloud to my class this week)
Friends invited me to supper Saturday. I had the opportunity to teach their twins (my students) the famous hiccup cure. After a delicious meal, we walked through the woods and down the road with our umbrellas and flashlights to the English country dance at the meetinghouse.
