This past weekend I enjoyed walking down the Penas Blancas trail with two friends. (Their picture is at the bottom of this page.) We stayed at the Aleman cabin and enjoyed river crossings, wildlife, and plants. I enjoyed the stunning variety of blossoms. As in November, I dipped into the clear rushing river to celebrate the end of the day. Sunday morning I read lazily on the porch, glancing at the entertaining birds and pizotes. (coatis)
On our way back up the trail, we rested in the shade with my neighbors who were heading down for Sunday night in the cabin. I shared the peanut-butter chocolate chip cookies and passed along the key to the Aleman cabin. Their cat greeted me when I got home.
